Review: Gerber LMF II ASEK Survival Knife 2201629 & 2201400
Ron and I have been wanting to do a review of the Gerber LMF II ASEK survival knife for some time now. I own the Gerber LMF II 2201629 (Black) and Ron owns the Gerber LMF II 2201400 (Coyote Brown). We recently took a three day / four night kayaking trip down the St. Marys River. I attached my Gerber to my Voodoo Tactical Level III Assault Pack keeping it in its sheath and attaching the Velcro loops though the Voodoo Tactical molle loops. I lashed my pack to the deck of my kayak and off I went. The Gerber LMF II ASEK Survival Knife was readily accessible for cutting, chopping, and hammering in tent stakes. There are a lot of reviews out there for the Gerber LMF II ASEK Survival Knife, but I have to say that the attached videos are pretty entertaining. Unless the end of the world were coming or I had to cut my way out of a helicopter fuselage, I don't think I would give this knife this much punishment. However, I can rest assured knowing that if I need it, the Gerber LMF II ASEK Survival Knife can handle it. We absolutely love our Gerber knives -- and for the money, they are an exceptional value. We could go on and on about how great they are, but instead, we thought it might me more entertaining to watch these extremely thorough videos. Please enjoy and thanks to KnifeTests.com.
Note: If you want to try these tests at home, use your friend's Gerber LMF II ASEK Survival Knife instead of your own.
This is the last video #7 of the destruction test. You can also view all the Gerber LMF II ASEK Survival Knife destruction videos.
